EPSRC IAA Engagement Fund

EPSRC IAA funding is available for travel, external meeting/event attendance, external partner event hosting support, and access to diverse knowledge and perspectives on the use and impact of research outputs outside academia.

These activities must be looking to promote benefits and avoid negative consequences of impact from EPSRC-funded research and must be directly related to engagement with partners outside the EPSRC research community.

Engagement fund

Funds will be considered for: 

  • Supporting a visit to an industry or other non-academic partner’s premises
  • Attendance at an industry/trade event
  • Running an industry/trade-focused event
  • Engaging with research users, stakeholders and other affected groups
  • Access to expertise on the societal impacts of EPSRC remit research 

Funds will cover reasonable expenses associated with: 

  • Travel
  • Accommodation
  • Subsistence
  • External event registration
  • Internal event costs: room hire, catering
  • Participant incentives
  • Access to non-EPSRC remit expertise on societal impact 

Funding is suited to developing and sustaining collaborative activity leading to future funding applications for impact, translational, commercialisation, or industry collaboration funding, or to amplify external engagement within currently funded projects. 

Please note: Applications for attendance at academic/peer-to-peer conferences etc. are not eligible. 

 

Applications must explicitly state the anticipated outcomes and likely impact of the engagement activity and fully justify the value of the request. Funds are for direct external partner, stakeholder, or expert interaction. All successful applicants will be expected to make themselves available for internal dissemination activities and must identify what the next steps in future impact activities are.
