e-zone

A home for our entrepreneurial community. The e-zone can be found at the heart of Central Campus, in the Bayes Centre. This space is designed to be the ultimate collaborative hub for all entrepreneurial activity, welcoming students, graduates, staff and the wider entrepreneurial community.

You’ll find the Edinburgh Innovations Student Enterprise team in the building and most of our inspiring events in this dynamic space. If you have a specific question in mind, please book a meeting to ensure someone will be available. 

Enter through the main door at the Bayes Centre and you can find us in the left-hand corner of the ground floor. With table space and more comfortable seating options too. This is a relaxed co-working space where the majority of the Student Enterprise team can be found.

You can pop-in at any time, book a meeting with a business adviser, work on your startup idea and meet with your team. We also hold in-person events and host other opportunities too.

Opening hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm 

Please know the building will close during the main bank holidays (Easter and the Winter Break), in line with the University of Edinburgh. 

What to expect on your visit:

The e-zone is all on the ground floor with assisted door access. We often have music playing in the background and as a co-working space there is usually constant conversations talking place. We ask that all visitors are mindful of others using the space to work. 

There are several options for nearby parking however, none of this is free. Depending on where you park you will need to seek a permit via the University of Edinburgh or pay Edinburgh Council for parking. Please be aware in both instances parking restrictions are enforced and we have no sway other these. 

There are many bus routes nearby for public buses as well as the University's shuttle bus service.

In the Main Library on George Square this is the perfect place to create a prototype or level up your product idea free of charge. Everything is provided, the equipment, advice, training and support. With a range of digital manufacture, novel data visualisation, 3D scanning and electronics equipment available for use in the space such as 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, virtual reality and much more.

Looking for the Student Enterprise Hub?

Some of you may remember the Student Enterprise Hub in Appleton Tower. We moved to our new home, the e-zone at the Bayes Centre. It's the same deal - you can pop-in anytime during open hours and use the space to work at a table, meet with your team or meet with an adviser. We host most of our events in the building too.
