Privacy statement

Information about you: how we use it and with whom we share it

The information you provide will be used by Edinburgh Innovations Ltd to perform a credit check. To do so Edinburgh Innovations Ltd uses an external company to perform the credit check on Edinburgh Innovations Ltd’s behalf. Information about you will be shared with CreditSafe If the credit check is successful, we will also use the data you supply to create a contract with Edinburgh Innovations Ltd and create a profile of you on Salesforce in order to administer payments. 

We are using information about you because Edinburgh Innovations Ltd has a legitimate interest and legal obligation to assess credit risk and protect Edinburgh Innovations Ltd (and the University of Edinburgh) against fraudulent activity in accordance with our anti-money laundering and due diligence procedures.

We will hold the personal data you provided us for as long as Edinburgh Innovations Ltd needs to hold the data in order to pay you. 

We do not use profiling or automated decision-making processes.  Some processes are semi-automated (such as anti-fraud data matching) but a human decision maker will always be involved before any decision is reached in relation to you.
